Boy Scouts of America Litigation

Updated: Mar 8, 2021

As of Monday, November 16, 2020, the window to file sexual abuse claims against the Boys Scouts of America officially closed. According to The New York Times, an estimated 92,700 survivors bravely came forward to report instances of sexual abuse and misconduct within the organization, most of whom were children when the sexual abuse occurred. These survivors are now seeking monetary damages to compensate them for years/decades of trauma-related pain and suffering inflicted by individuals who were meant to protect them.

The Boy Scouts of America first came under fire for allegations of widespread sexual abuse back in 2007 after six men came forward to report sexual abuse by a scoutmaster. By February 2020, the organization had received a surge of claims so overwhelming that they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

At Seven Summits Law, we are proud to be representing more than 1,500 of the approximately 92,000 survivors who filed claims in the Boys Scouts of America bankruptcy. Sexual abuse, particularly when endured as a child, often results in negative impacts that last a lifetime and presents challenges across all aspects of life. Our team is committed to aggressively advocating for our clients in every step of this difficult process to achieve the justice and compensation they deserve.
